The weirdest thing happened to me. Someone in my office Googled “A.V. Max Sample Sale,” found my site, circulated the link, even went so far as to print out copies of said A.V. Max post…and the only person who sniffed out the Baubler’s identity was my boss. (Hi!)
I took a break to get my head together and to decide if I could withstand the heavy burden of blogging like a responsible adult. Answer: probably. So here I am, and here are some gems I discovered over the past week’s worth of post-office browsing in and around Herald Square.
I like the idea of dressing down pearls in a cheeky way. So, so cute. You can’t tell from the picture, but it sits very high, almost like a choker.

Every now and then, Ann Taylor Loft can surprise you. These beads are, as they are described on the product page, “milky white,” almost like marbles. Another pearl alternative for girls who like the look but can’t seem to pull off the real thing. (Guilty as charged.) The bright red string knotted inbetween is a nice touch.
White and Red Knotted Necklace, $34

Love it! Saw it at Macy’s in different colors — white, jade, blue. This is on a super-long twisted gold chain. There was a gold circus peanut that caught my eye, too. But I like the acorn. Acorns are for people who think kitschy 70s owls are cool but know that they jumped the shark, like, 3 years ago. Remind me to tell you a funny story about a boy named Lane from Williamsburg…
Acorn Necklace, $72
Kenneth Jay Lane (also spotted at Macy’s)
